MORI-NU TOFU ANNOUNCES WINNERS OF MORI-NU 20TH ANNIVERSARY "THE HEALTHY DRIVE" SWEEPSTAKES
Los Angeles, California (January 30, 2006) -- Morinaga Nutritional Foods, Inc., an innovator in the soyfoods industry and maker of shelf-stable Mori-Nu Silken Tofu, has announced the winners of their Mori-Nu "The Healthy Drive" Sweepstakes in 2005, which featured two (2) Grand Prizes of the Toyota Prius Hybrid to celebrate the company's 20th Anniversary in the United States.
"I just couldn't believe it!" exclaimed Lisa A. of Spartanburg, South Carolina, the winner of a brand new Toyota Prius. "The timing was great, and such a relief during a very stressful time," she continued. "Give the recent gas prices, the high mileage [EPA 55 mpg] is a great feature." In addition, the day after Lisa received the news, a very close family member was scheduled for open heart surgery and winning the sweepstakes "just felt like a good omen."
The timing also was perfect for Kim McConahay and her family of Laramie, Wyoming, the winners of a Hawaiian vacation from Mori-Nu. "I just kept asking myself, 'Is this for real?'" Kim explained, "With my son's graduation in May, and his moving on after that, it gives us one last opportunity for a family vacation."
"'The Health Drive" sweepstakes not only reached those who already enjoy Mori-Nu products, but also a whole new audience," said Susan Bucher, Morinaga's director of sales and marketing. "The sweepstakes was designed to celebrate our 20th year in America by encouraging healthier living. We feel we achieved our goals, while brightening the lives of several lucky winners and their families."
William "Dan" Bell, also the winner of a Hawaiian vacation, first tried Mori-Nu Tofu while visiting his daughter last summer in Austin, Texas. "She whipped the tofu into her marinara sauce and it gave it such an amazingly creamy texture. It was such an interesting and delicious use that when I got back to North Carolina, I bought Mori-Nu myself. Now I use it in just about any stir-fry I make. I'll toss it in with some vegetables, sesame oil, and sesame seeds."
Like the winners, many health-conscious Americans have embraced Mori-Nu Silken Tofu as a delicious dairy and meat alternative. Sweepstakes Promotion, a fully integrated marketing program
featuring a Grand Prize of the Toyota Prius Hybrid to celebrate
the company's 20th Anniversary in the United States.
The promotion, which will be the focus of the Mori-Nu U.S. marketing
efforts this summer, will offer consumers a chance to win several
prizes including the Toyota Prius Hybrid, which shares the Mori-Nu
commitment to balanced, healthy living. The sweepstakes begins July
1, 2005 and ends September 30, 2005.
Prizes consist of two (2) all-new Toyota Prius Hybrid Automobiles,
three (3) luxurious 7-day getaways to Hawaii for two, three (3)
50 inch Plasma Screen TV's, and three (3) Digital Cameras.
The Toyota Prius Hybrid was awarded the 2004 North American Car
of the Year. It generates nearly 90 percent fewer smog-forming emissions
