Chocolate Trifle

SERVINGS: 2

We took two easy recipes and combined them into one! A super easy chocolate mousse recipe plus a simple make-your-own-granola recipe, layered with more deliciousness, for a decadent chocolate and banana dessert!

INGREDIENTS

Chocolate Mousse:

  • 6.0 oz Mori-Nu Silken Tofu Soft or Organic

  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • 3 Tbsp maple syrup

  • Pinch of sea salt

Granola:

  • 1/2 cup rolled oats

  • 1/4 cup hazelnuts, crushed

  • 1/2 Tbsp cocoa powder

  • 1 Tbsp almond butter

  • 1 Tbsp honey

Toppings:

  • 2 small bananas, sliced

  • 4 oz coconut whipped cream or alternative

PREPARATION

  1. Preheat the oven to 325°F.

  2. Make the chocolate mousse by combining all mousse ingredients in a bowl. Whisk until smooth and fluffy.

  3. Make the granola by combining all granola ingredients in a separate bowl. Place the granola mixture on a baking sheet lined with a silicone mat or parchment paper. Using a spoon, press granola mixture down and pack into an even layer. Bake for about 15 minutes, then let cool.

  4. Layer everything into two trifle glass jars starting with one layer of granola, topped with chocolate mousse, banana slices, then whipped cream. Repeat to make two layers per glass jar. Sprinkle crushed hazelnuts and/or cocoa powder on top if desired.

  5. Store in refrigerator if not serving immediately.
